About T'boli

The T’boli tribe of Lake Sebu is one of the indigenous people in Southern Mindanao. Known for their excellent skills in weaving and metal works, they are able to produce their one of a kind T’boli cloth, the T’nalak.

About T'nalak

One of the eminent products that the province of South Cotabato has become celebrated for is the T'nalak weaving. A unique weaving that illustrates geometric patterns depicting both art and a definite paradigm of culture dreamt to life by the T'boli people , an ethnic tribe of the province..

Livehood

The T'boli are farmers who practice the swidden (slash and burn) method of agriculture. This involves cutting the forest growth, burning the debris, and planting in the clearing.

Their children must be given the opportunity to be custodians of the knowledge, skills, values and tradition that are unique to our indigenous culture. In inheriting this responsibility, our children will be involved in nurturing, maintaining and transmitting knowledge for future generation. The T’boli school children will thus learn value their heritage, contribute to sustaining the natural resources of the land and serve their communities with dedication.

Are experiential, integrative, relevant with clear and purposeful goals, respond to the social needs and livelihood of the community and affirm the identity of the youth as indigenous Filipinos.
